🌡️ Kollam by Season
❄️ Winter — Best Season
The ideal time to visit Kollam. Cool, dry weather with temperatures 23–32°C. Perfect for beach visits, backwater cruises, Jatayu Park, and outdoor trekking. November–January is peak tourist season. Onam boat races in September/October. Christmas at Thangassery Church is magical.
☀️ Summer
Hotter and more humid, with temperatures reaching 34–38°C by April–May. The sea can be rough. However, Vishu (April) is a vibrant Kerala New Year to experience. Fewer tourists mean lower hotel prices and less crowded beaches. Morning trips to Jatayu and Thenmala are best.
🌧️ Monsoon
Kerala’s famous monsoon transforms Kollam into a lush, deep-green paradise. Heavy rain (June–August) makes sea activities difficult, but the backwaters are at their most beautiful. Ayurvedic treatments are best done during monsoon. Onam festival falls in August–September — a must-see.
